Please do think about it! :) HurricaneFan25 23:06, 6 December 2011 (UTC)

I think you would make a great admin. You have been around for 10 months now, and have done a very good job all around. Especially as a New Page patroller. If you'd like, I can write a co-nomination. Alpha_Quadrant (talk) 23:11, 6 December 2011 (UTC)

CorenBot

Hi Σ. As you know, I always appreciate your enthusiasm, but I think removing the instructions from the NPP page was a bit quick, and that such a text change should preferably be discussed first. In the meantime I have reverted your edit with what I hope is an appropriate es. On the other hand, discussion on NPP research has now begun here (see also my comments here and anything you may wish to add would be most appreciated. It is hoped that if the survey and its related research can be completed within a reasonable time frame, it may speed up development of the new NPP control panel for patrollers, which will almost certainly be extremely useful if the IEP goes ahead with Phase 2. Regards, --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 03:06, 9 December 2011 (UTC)

Thank you for your response; I do agree that I may have been a bit too heavy-handed in the removal of content.
I'll try to comment at meta when I have the time. Those survey results are interesting, by the way. →Στc. 03:58, 9 December 2011 (UTC)

Warning: Your behaviour is harassing and bizarre.

I have no idea what your problem is or why you're defacing a user talk page, but I suggest you go have a nice cup of tea and get yourself sorted out, because it's really annoying. If you're that easily offended, perhaps the internet isn't the place for you to play. So, please, sod off. <3 211.30.150.155 (talk) 05:10, 9 December 2011 (UTC)

Declined speedy deletion

I declined your A7 tagging on Neudesic, because to me the claims that it was listed in 5 separate annual surveys of technology magazines is enough to pass A7. I did tag it as having questionable notability, so feel free to AfD if you like (I don't think it's uncontroversial enough to prod). Qwyrxian (talk) 05:03, 10 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi Σ. You could have considered closing this yourself. There was absolutely no point even in voting. The person who transcluded it for Awsome should have know better. Any user in good standing can close an RfA of this kind. Speedy deletion declined: Hoodoo rhythm devils

Hello Σ. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Hoodoo rhythm devils, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Having members who are or were members of a notable band indicates importance/significance. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 06:48, 11 December 2011 (UTC)

Just so you know Σ, I sent the above mentioned article to AfD. The article doesn't have any reliable sources and appears to fail the notability guidelines. Best, Alpha_Quadrant (talk) 07:02, 11 December 2011 (UTC)

sync-pp update

You may want to update your bot to use User:LikeLakers2/SWP/sync-pp, as I have just made that with a copy of the template, custom made for your bot. I can move it into your userspace (or you can if you want) if you wish. I didn't bother making the template additions use the mIRC scripting style, as only a bot will use it. Thanks. Threedom

Hello, I have fixed the article Threedom a bit, but I wonder who has taken off the speedy deletion template you placed over it. I don't know whether it is suitable for Wikipedia. Please help in this.--Sainsf <^> (talk) 08:14, 12 December 2011 (UTC)

The speedy deletion tag is still there. I do not think it is worth trying to rescue the article; after seeing "That’s why Threedom is referred to as a “hub.”" in the first section, the rest of the article must be far worse. →Στc. 08:35, 12 December 2011 (UTC)

About "A million digits of pi"

The page still violates what Wikipedia is not, CSD A10, and can possibly crash some browsers. I stand by my tag, and will let an admin who chances on that page decide whether to remove the tag or agree with it. →Στc. 01:58, 13 December 2011 (UTC)

WP:UWTEST update

Hi Σ,

We're currently busy designing some new tests, and we need your feedback/input!

  1. ImageTaggingBot - a bot that warns users who upload images but don't provide adequate source or license information (drafts here)
  2. CorenSearchBot - a bot that warns users who copy-paste text from external websites or other Wikipedia articles (drafts here)

We also have a proposal to test new "accepted," "declined," and "on-hold" templates at Articles for Creation (drafts here). The discussion isn't closed yet, so please weigh in if you're interested.

Thanks for your help! Maryana (WMF) (talk) 01:28, 15 December 2011 (UTC)

Bot bug

Wrong date. Thanks. -- zzuuzz (talk) 10:54, 16 December 2011 (UTC)

Bot edit

In this edit, your bot added a protection template to a protected template. I have three problems with this edit: 1. there is a special template for protected templates, {{Pp-template}}, more specific then {{Pp-protected}}. 2. Templates with a documentation subpage automatically have the sign of a protected template in the upper right corner. That is build into the code of documentation subpages. They do not need an additional template for that. 3. Your left some space between the end of the closing noinclude tag and the first "{" of the template code, thereby causing an unnecessary and disturbing whiteline. Please take care never to leave space between the end of the code you add and the beginning of the template itself. Debresser (talk) 00:04, 19 December 2011 (UTC)

Altered speedy deletion rationale: D'Shawn Eatmon

Hello Σ, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I deleted D'Shawn Eatmon, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, under a different criterion from the one you provided. The speedy deletion criteria are extremely narrow and specific, and the process is more effective if the correct criterion is used. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Guerillero | My Talk 05:23, 20 December 2011 (UTC)

However, I will add a part to it that says that the comment may be removed if it is verified to be correct. If you still want to not have the comment there, be my guest. ...PT 1 [19:26:55] <LL2|JedIRC> PT 2... I'd prefer that you add <noinclude></noinclude> (no tags inside those, just that like it is) around it instead instead of removing it though. Thanks.

JohnHart

Hello,

I believe you were the admin who placed the "speedy deletion" tag on my article "JohnHart". I would like to inquire as to why? I wrote that article as objectively as possible. While it may still seem like an advertisement, the purpose of it is nothing more than to define my company for those who search it here. It is no more of an "ambiguous advertisement" than the keller williams realty page or the remax page on wikipedia.

I understand where you are coming from, but i would like suggestions on how i could rewrite it, and if that is not an option than I formally request that you "speedily delete" the keller williams realty, remax, and all other companies defined on this site.

Regards,

John Maseredjian

Johnny Maser (talk) 04:10, 28 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi. I added the tag because it was unambiguous promotion of a company. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia; encyclopedias are not advertising platforms. Although some articles on Wikipedia may sound like advertisements, not all can be speedily deleted as advertisements due to the narrow nature of the criteria. Furthermore, the existence of an article does not allow the existence of another similar one. I am not confident that a proposal for deletion (7 days without objections to cause the article to be deleted) or deletion discussion would succeed if I were to apply one of them to the articles you mentioned.
If you would truly like to rewrite the article, you can email a user listed here and ask for the article to be emailed to you. Please take a look at this and this before you create the article on Wikipedia again. I hope this helps, →Στc. 04:43, 28 December 2011 (UTC)

Hi. When you recently edited QuantZ (videogame), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mac (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's worth noting that the "blog" in question (from which you eliminated contributions to the Andrew Geller article) is the blog of Alastair Gordon, noted author, lecturer, architectural historian and regular contributor to the New York Times, New Yorker, The Wall Street Journal, Architectural Digest, Vanity Fair. I'm reverting your edit on this basis. 842U (talk) 02:56, 31 December 2011 (UTC)

Blogs are not reliable. --Bryce (talk | contribs) 02:58, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
Really? From this source, WP:BLOGS (the exact same source incorrectly cited above as Blogs are not reliable): "Self-published expert sources may be considered reliable when produced by an established expert on the topic of the article whose work in the relevant field has previously been published by reliable third-party publications." Just guessing, but our boy Alastair qualifies as expert and the New York Times, New Yorker, The Wall Street Journal, Architectural Digest and Vanity Fair possibly qualify as reliable third sources. Geez. 842U (talk) 05:19, 31 December 2011 (UTC)
